1. Entities Responsible for the Contest
The Madrid Hotel Business Association (Asociación Empresarial Hotelera de Madrid), hereinafter AEHM, with registered office at Calle Marqués de Cubas, number 25, 4º Izquierda, 28014, Madrid (Spain), with Tax ID No. (NIF) G-28610525, and e-mail address aehm@aehm.es, and the company Connecting Heads, with company name Martin Warwick SL, Tax ID No. (NIF) B-67422022 and address at C/ Nou 28-34 4t 4ª. MANRESA, 08241, hereinafter CONNECTING HEADS, are organising the Contest “Traveling for Happiness Awards” 5TH EDITION 2025 which is set to take place from 3 March 2025 to 12 June 2025.

2. Participation Requirements
All national and international companies, private sector organisations, company management positions or private initiative projects whose main purpose and activity is tourism activity, understood as accommodation, transport, catering or intermediation, are eligible for the “Traveling for Happiness Awards” 5th Edition 2025, in any of its categories, provided that they meet the following requirements:
They adhere to the description of both the candidate and the objective of the award in terms of its projection of activity or economic results according to the description given in each of the applications.
They register on the website of the awards and provide the necessary documentation required by the Entities Responsible for the Contest.
They complete and send the registration form within the period indicated in these terms.
They provide a contact person for any questions or concerns that may arise
Commit to the collection of the awards and on the day of the presentation, make a brief presentation of a maximum of 3 minutes on the winning project.
They do not have, as a company, any litigation with the courts involving malpractice with corporate social responsibility, abuse of employees, unfair trade, money laundering or violation of any fundamental right.
They are up to date with tax, social security, or any other obligations with the public administrations.
Applications that do not have a tourism activity as their main purpose or those companies whose purpose is to provide guide services, active tourism, or offer specialised cultural, sporting, organisational, consultancy or similar services will not be considered as tourism activities and, therefore, will not be eligible for any award.
The organisation will reject applications that do not comply with the above-mentioned requirements.
3. Categories
There are 8 categories to choose from:
SUSTAINABLE GASTRONOMY: The award is given to those establishments and tourist entities that stand out in the integration of sustainable practices in gastronomy. It recognises excellence in the use of sustainable, local, and seasonal ingredients, the minimisation of food waste, the elimination of plastic and the promotion of healthy and sustainable food, thus contributing to environmental conservation, health and local economic development.
RESPONSIBLE WELLBEING: The award is given to those tourism establishments and entities that focus on the physical health, mental health, and wellbeing of visitors, as well as on the relaxation of people, while demonstrating a firm commitment to sustainability. This includes practices such as responsible use of natural resources, environmentally friendly products, wellbeing programmes that respect the environment, and physical activities that promote personal wellness and connection with nature.
REGENERATIVE TOURISM: This award is given to tourism initiatives that go beyond sustainability, towards the active regeneration of ecosystems and local communities. It includes strategies for the responsible use of resources, in harmony with the ecosystem (water, energy, etc.). It seeks to recognise those projects that not only minimise negative impacts, but also generate a positive impact on the environment, the economy and society, fostering social cohesion and community development.
CONSCIOUS CULTURE AND ART: It distinguishes those entities within the field of tourism, including companies, organisations, or projects, which are dedicated to the conservation and promotion of artistic and cultural heritage, integrated into the environment and that promote social welfare. This award recognises projects that preserve cultural heritage, promote social welfare, and minimise environmental impact. It also seeks to encourage participants and spectators to move towards more sustainable practices in their daily lives through the critical, emotional, and reflective connection that art offers.
SUSTAINABLE LEADERSHIP: This award recognises companies and organisations in the tourism sector that are leading the way towards a sustainable transformation, integrating sustainability into their business model, encompassing economic, social, and environmental aspects to make the expression “sustainable development” increasingly real. It highlights those who implement effective, innovative, and inspiring strategies to promote positive impact, while promoting economic development and local wealth generation, establishing themselves as a role model in the sector.
DECARBONISATION: This is awarded to organisations in the tourism sector that stand out for their efforts to reduce carbon emissions. It recognises those that apply clean technologies, optimize energy use, promote sustainable transport among their visitors, and take measures to achieve carbon neutrality.
This award recognises the important contribution to the fight against climate change and focuses on the transformation to a low-carbon tourism industry that protects our future.This award recognizes the important contribution to the fight against climate change and focuses on the transformation to a low-carbon tourism industry that protects our future.
SOCIAL IMPACT: This award recognizes tourism companies and organizations that develop projects with a strong positive social impact. It recognizes initiatives that significantly improve the quality of life of local communities, promote social inclusion, fair employment and capacity building. This award highlights the commitment to creating social value, strengthening communities and contributing to tourism development that benefits all stakeholders.
PRESERVATION OF FAUNA AND FLORA: This award is intended for those initiatives that are committed to the regeneration of the flora and fauna of their environment through two types of measures. On the one hand, those that advocate the minimization of the impact on the ecosystem in which they are located in order to restore the environment. But, above all, those in which, through reforestation, the reintroduction of endemic species, the protection of endangered species or the repair of marine or terrestrial ecosystems are contributing to the natural preservation of the place where they are located. In addition, special value will be given to projects that share these initiatives with guests and even propose experiences of awareness and responsible enjoyment of the recovered environment.
4. Participation Period
The present competition will start on March 3, 2025 to June 12, 2025 and will be divided into the following phases:
Reception of applications (from March 3, 2025 to May 9, 2025).
Jury evaluation (from May 12, 2025 to May 27, 2025).
Jury resolution (May 28, 2025).
Proclamation of the winners "Traveling for Happiness Awards 2025" (June 2, 2025).
Awards ceremony (June 12, 2025).
5. Contest organisation
Contest registration phase.
Nominations can only be submitted by filling in a form available on the official website of the awards: www.travelingforhappiness.com The deadline for submission of proposals will be from March 3, 2025 to May 9, 2025.
Registration in the contest implies the express acceptance of these terms.
The following will be necessary:
To fill out the registration form.
To attach additional documentation (only videos and photographs will be accepted as audio-visual demonstration of the initiative).
Proposal evaluation phase
The jury will evaluate and assess the proposals according to the criteria defined for each of the categories. The evaluation will take into account:
Results and impact obtained.
Relevance of the project or initiative carried out.
Degree of innovation and originality of the initiative developed.
Adequacy of the application to the award for which it is being submitted.
Prospective future impact expansion.
Elements of the project that favor its reproduction on a larger scale.
Multiplier effect.
The jury will share its evaluations and deliberations in order to reach its final decision. Each of the award categories has a member of the jury assigned as rapporteur, who will make an evaluation of the winning proposal.
Jury
The jury will be made up of professionals from the sector, figures of recognized prestige, or world experts in different fields. Minutes will be taken of each of the Jury's evaluations, with the scores obtained, as well as their observations. The Jury's decision will be final. In the event that, in the opinion of the Jury, none of the participants meet the requirements of these competition rules, the prize may be declared void.
7. Description of the Award
For the winners, the organisation commits to:
Delivery of the award certification which will grant its holder the right to use it during the year in which it has been awarded for commercial and promotional purposes of the awarded company. A gift designed by BOA MISTURA will also be awarded.
To disseminate and provide media coverage of the event and promote exemplary initiatives that have been highlighted by the jury throughout the year until the next edition.
Give the winners a maximum of 3 minutes to present their case of success in the contest in front of the audience and members of the jury.
The recording of the event, as well as other promotional material for dissemination in promotional channels and during the first year until the celebration of the next edition.
All material generated during the event will be available for the winners to use for their own promotion.
8. Announcement of the winners and celebration of the event
On May 28, 2025, the Jury will proceed to designate, from among the participants in the competition, a winner according to each category and its own evaluation criteria, creating a list of the scores obtained after the evaluation of the proposals.
The selected winner will be contacted by telephone to inform them of their status as a winner of the "TRAVELING FOR HAPPINESS AWARDS" contest.
The winners will also be published on the web pages www.travelingforhappiness.com, www.aehm.es and https://www.connecting-heads.com/es.html.
Once the winners have been selected through the Jury, the award will be presented during the event held in June 2025.
9. Data protection policy
In accordance with the provisions of EU Regulation 2016/679 of 27 April 2016, the personal data provided by the authors will be processed for the purpose of managing their participation in the Prize, the legitimate interest of the parties in facilitating the registration of the candidacy in accordance with these rules being the legitimate basis for the processing. The data provided will be kept until the jury's decision is made public. Once the jury's decision has been communicated, the data will be kept blocked, preventing its processing, except for the purpose of making the data available to judges and courts, the Public Prosecutor's Office or the competent Public Administrations, for the enforcement of possible liabilities arising from the processing and only for the period of limitation of the same. Once the above-mentioned period of time has elapsed, the data will be deleted. The data will not be transferred to third parties except in cases where there is a legal obligation. Interested parties have the right to obtain confirmation as to whether their personal data is being processed, therefore, they have the right to access their personal data, rectify inaccurate data or request its deletion when the data is no longer necessary, proving their identity, as well as the right to oppose and request the limitation of the processing of their data and the right to data portability. Participants may exercise, at any time, the rights of access, rectification, cancellation, opposition, limitation and portability of data, by sending their request to the AEHM domiciled at C/ Marqués de Cubas, 25 - 4º Izq., 28014 Madrid.
9. Image rights
In accordance with Organic Law 1/1982, 5 May, on the Civil Protection of the Right to Honour, Personal and Family Privacy and Self-Image, the winners of the competition expressly authorise AEHM and CONNECTING HEADS to use their image for publicity purposes in any media, including the Internet and Social Networks, without the right to receive any financial compensation whatsoever.
Likewise, the winner authorises AEHM and CONNECTING HEADS to use the image of the winners for advertising purposes in any media, including the Internet and Social Networks, without the right to receive any financial compensation.
10. Reservation of rights
The organizing companies reserve the right to make any change, clarification or rectification in the Bases of this promotion, if there is just cause, as well as to suspend or extend it at the time it deems appropriate, for reasons of Force Majeure, always making such changes public with the same publicity given to these Bases.
11. Applicable law and jurisdiction
The terms of this contest are governed by Spanish Law. AEHM, HEADS CONNECTING and the participants of this draw, in the event of any dispute regarding the terms of this draw expressly submit to the courts of Madrid, expressly waiving any other jurisdiction that may correspond to them. The user accepts the conditions set forth above.

The legal basis for the processing of your data is your consent given through the registration form, in accordance with Article 6.1.a) of the RGPD, notwithstanding that you may object or withdraw your consent at any time, as well as unequivocal consent to send communications from email and automatic information system aehm.es.
How long will we treat your data?
Your data will be treated for the time necessary in relation to the purposes for which they were collected, provided that you do not request their deletion beforehand and, in any case, for one year from their collection, after which they will be deleted.
To which recipients will your personal data be transferred?
Your personal data will not be transferred to third parties, unless the responsible party is legally obliged to do so. Likewise, no international data transfers will be made.
What are your rights when you communicate your data to us?
