Responsible Well-being Award 2025
Arantza Hotel: responsible well-being connected to the environment
Arantza Hotela has been recognized with the Responsible Well-being Award at the Traveling for Happiness 2025 awards for its comprehensive commitment to sustainability, respect for the environment, and the creation of responsible tourism experiences that have a positive impact on the region. Located in a privileged natural setting, the hotel has turned well-being into a concept that goes beyond the guest, extending to the environment and the local community.
The "Leading Destination in Sustainability" project was created with the aim of protecting and preserving the natural environment in which the hotel is located, while boosting the local economy and promoting a model of tourism aligned with the principles of the 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals. This vision has led Arantza Hotela to become the first five-star hotel in Spain to obtain the Ecolabel certificate, the European Ecolabel, along with other benchmark certifications such as Biosphere and AENOR.
Environmental commitment and certifications of excellence
Environmental sustainability is one of the fundamental pillars of the project. Arantza Hotela has implemented a responsible management model that guarantees the efficient use of resources, the reduction of environmental impact, and the continuous improvement of its processes. Obtaining the Ecolabel certificate recognizes compliance with strict environmental criteria in areas such as energy consumption, water management, waste, and the use of environmentally friendly products.
This commitment is complemented by Biosphere certification, which endorses the hotel's alignment with international sustainable tourism standards, and AENOR certification, which accredits the measurement and reduction of its carbon footprint. This reflects its firm commitment to a responsible, measurable, and long-term development model.

Well-being connected to the territory
The project also relies on close collaboration with the local community and its inhabitants. We actively work with organic producers, local guides, and artists from the area, integrating culture and traditions into the guest experience. This network of collaborations allows us to offer authentic and sustainable experiences, while promoting direct and indirect employment and strengthening the local economy.
Furthermore, in terms of gastronomy, the hotel is committed to using locally sourced and organic products in its restaurant, prioritizing local suppliers and contributing to the circular economy. This choice not only reduces the environmental impact associated with transportation, but also strengthens the link between the hotel and its immediate surroundings, turning gastronomy into a tool for well-being and sustainability.
